... then some pics of the royal palace - from outside, as we could not be bothered ...
... the first serious visit of the day was at Wat Ounalom ... where apparently an eyebrow hair from Buddha is kept (Ernst had another theory about what hair that may be but that's another story) ... we went to see it and we even got a blessing from a sweet old man (a monk?) ... but before that, we took some picture with some ... eeehmm ... sacred animals outside ...
... we then went on to visit yet another Wat (Wat Phnom), were we witnessed some rather disturbing rituals (like slices of pork set as offering to some wolf-like divinities ... and lots of sparrows sold to the worshippers and set free after a prayer, but kept captive in tiny cages and miserable conditions ) ...
... Ernst insisted on taking an embarrassing picture of my outfit, complete with my two new buys (Vietnam hat and dodgy sunglasses) ...
... after the morning in the scorching sun, we decided to relax a couple of hours in and around the pool ...
... and I had to show off my ever growing collection of bracelets ... now a new one for each country we visit ...
... we had a late lunch at our new favourite, "The vegetarian" ...
... and then walked around looking for a good bar with happy hour ... and we found some dodgy places, where it's apparently forbidden to bring an arsenal with you ... I wonder why ...
... and we witnessed some incredible scenes outside a school ... we only took the picture of a family limousine, but we also saw a full bus (6 people on a small motorbike, 2 children almost hung by the neck by daddy, 1 sandwiched between the parents and the last one balancing on mum's lap) ... all in rush hour traffic ...
... finally we found a nice place just around the corner of the hotel ... 4 pints for 2 USD ... life is not so bad after all ...
