Last day and a whole new experience - snuba diving!
... no, it's not scuba and it's not snorkelling ... it's s mix between the two and it gives you a whole new prospective of the underwater world ...

Snorkeling at Hol Chan & Shark ray alley
we should have known by the name that there would be sharks involved ... lots of them ...
but it all started so peacefully on a sailing boat ...
then they started throwing fish scraps in to the water ... and this happened!

do you remember the movie "open water" ?? scaaary thoughts ...
but fortunately there were also more peaceful, vegetarian visitors ...
we ended up being late coming back ... and seeing our first sunset from the see ... not too shabby, eh?

Snorkeling at Mexico Rocks and Tres Cocos
Our first serious snorkelling tour at San Pedro was full of surprises ... just after 20 minutes on the boat, we were asked to jump into crystal clear water and be amazed ...

On our way to San Pedro
after 6 days we had to say goodbye to Maya Beach ... which was quite sunny for a change!!
we got to another flying trap of Tropic Air and off we went to San Pedro ... despite my worries and a spot of bad weather, the Caribbean sea from above was stunning ...
once in San Pedro, we barely checked in to our hotel before checking out the local amenities ...
like the Palapa where we had some Mexican food and a couple of drinks (please note Ernst's enthusiasm when seeing the holy guacamole ...)
